The Beaver District sleepover was at Linnet Clough over the weekend of 23rd – 25th Sept. This time after much deliberation it was decided the the theme would be ‘Cowboys and Indians.’
On Friday night, Longford and St Matthew’s Beavers slept over. During the evening they went on a wide game – looking for glow sticks, then watched a DVD, had supper and went to bed very late!!!
On the Saturday, after a good healthy breakfast and numerous washes, Quest and Gorse Hill Beavers arrived. The beavers were split up into 6 groups and there were 6 bases: Indian crafts, cowboy crafts, archery, lassoing and hobby horse races & nature trail.
After tea and a campfire, Longford and St Matthew’s Beavers went home. Then it was games, another DVD, supper and another late bed for the leaders as Quest and Gorse Hill Beavers stayed the Saturday night.
On the Sun it was up to breakfast and washes before parents came to take them home.
Overall all Beavers were very well behaved, the sun shone throughout (almost), and it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
